What is an Exercise Physiologist?

An Exercise Physiologist is an Allied Health Professional with the highest level of training to prescribe exercise for the prevention and treatment of clinical conditions. At a minimum an Exercise Physiologist has completed a four year University Bachelor Degree which equips them with the skills and competencies to design, deliver and evaluate safe and effective exercise interventions for people who have acute, sub-acute or chronic medical conditions, injuries and disabilities.

Conditions such as unexplained infertility, polycystic ovary syndrome, endometriosis, male factor fertility issues, diabetes and specialist weight management require expertise in exercise prescription to ensure the program you receive is safe AND effective.
We know how exercise affects your endocrine, cardiovascular and musculoskeletal systems, and your wellbeing. At The IVF Project we also know what assisted reproductive treatments do to your body and how to adjust your exercise prescription accordingly!

What is a Dietitian?

Dietitians are tertiary qualified in food, nutrition and dietetics. Qualified dietitians have undertaken a course of study that has included supervised and assessed professional practice in public health nutrition, medical nutrition therapy and food service management.

Dietitians are qualified to work in private clinical practice, hospitals and the medical nutrition industry. They provide expert nutrition advice for people of all ages and prescribe dietary treatments for many conditions such as diabetes, polycystic ovary syndrome, cancers, gastrointestinal diseases, and overweight and obesity. Diet can be a powerful tool to improve the outcome of your assisted reproductive treatment and here at The IVF Project we want to make sure you get expert, evidence based dietary guidance!
